Diyara is a Kurdish painter based in London. She makes intuitive, colour-heavy paintings in oil on canvas, drawing on images of people, mountains and shifting landscapes. Her work grows from an intuitive process and from a life shaped by displacement, and circles around questions of the human condition. Treating painting as a form of honest storytelling, she aims to create works that feel raw, intimate and open to the viewer.

In my art, I desire to foster a sense of empathy and understanding, revealing the threads that bind us together in this intricate web of existence.
